Fire in garment factory and 5 injured, Bangladesh - 2025

Based on official information five workers of garment factory Tanzila Textile Limited were injured. The incident occurred at in the Baroipara area of Ashulia. The report by the fire service stated: “The blaze originated from a burn in the stander machine on the factory’s finishing floor.” Senior Station Officer Pranab Chowdhury of DEPZ Fire Station said in the Dhaka Tribune: “The cause of the fire is a burn in the stander machine on the finishing floor. Five people were injured in the incident, with two reported to be in critical condition.”

The factory is listed on Open Supply Hub by the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles, Fair Wear Foundation, and the International Accord Foundation, indicating that some member brands source from there. Additionally, the supplier's website states that European brands such as NKD Group GmbH, MANGO, and Cotton Go also purchase from this factory. These brands now have a responsibility to demonstrate what actions they have taken for remediation.
