Authorities in Bhaluka Upazila of Mymensingh took action against Experience Textile Limited – owned by Experience Group - after long-standing complaints from local residents that it had been illegally discharging untreated and hazardous liquid waste onto nearby agricultural land. A mobile court operation led by the Assistant Upazila Commissioner (Land) confirmed that the textile unit had been violating the conditions of its environmental clearance by using a bypass pipeline to dump industrial and household wastewater directly into farmland, despite having an effluent treatment plant.

The illegal discharge caused severe environmental pollution and significant damage to agriculture, with local farmers reporting that more than 335 acres of cropland had become unfit for cultivation resulting in major financial losses. Following the inspection, authorities shut down the factory`s drainage pipeline and announced further legal measures in line with Bangladesh's environmental laws, while affected farmers expressed cautious relief, hoping the invervention would help prevent further damage and provide some protection for their livelihoods.

Experience Textile Ltd. is listed in the Open Supply Hub as supplier to the brand New Look Retailer from Britain. It is also listed in the Oeko-Tex Buying Guide as Oeko-Tex 100 certified facility. Experience Group names also a GOTS-certificate.
